Loughborough University is one of the UK’s leading universities, with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research, and has strong links with industry. The University is globally recognised for their research and development of Additive Manufacturing technologies and related areas. The ULO team has been researching the analysis and consequent design of biological trabecular networks for the last 5 years and has developed unique competencies and expertise in this.

In the ArtiVasc 3D project ULO will provide the critical link between the biological studies and the production technologies. This will encompass new methods to integrate the design requirements into an effective computerised 3D description of the desired vascular network, and then translate these geometries and their composition into suitable machine coding for the manufacturing processes.
